  • from CharlieTop Contributor: Philosophy -- VINE VOICE : Unprincipled on principle ( 2.0 out of 5 stars )
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Douglas Steele -- It holds up! : This book is a great pace for anyone to start who isn’t fully enveloped in this philosophy. Although having references made and language that may not hold up to today’s standards, what is easily understandable and translatable makes sense and aids learning! I couldn’t be more happy with my purchase, as it answered all the questions I’ve had, or more or less made me ask more! Definitely reccomend this book ( Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2019 )

If the truth is what works, then this book is full of truths. ( Reviewed in the United States on September 28, 2017 )

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Gypsy Samuels -- Yes buy this book : Almost anything written by James is worth reading. The idea here is not "apply" anything in a very modern fashion. The journey is the reward. You just want to be beside him while he is thinking. ( Reviewed in the United States on April 16, 2018 )

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars from W. M. Hartwig-compton -- good : A very interesting and thought-provoking book about William James, whose philosophy is fresh and logical. Well written and a pleasure to read. ( Reviewed in France on December 26, 2014 )
  • 2.0 out of 5 stars from MR P. -- Being Pragmatic, There Are Better Texts..... : This is going to make me sound like a "prole", but I say this in full appreciation of his status as the father of pragmatism and with respect to the age of the text, but this is really, incredibly, boring and dull. There are more exciting and relevant-to-today texts on the subject. ( Reviewed in the United Kingdom on March 23, 2010 )
